DMV Application for North Carolina ELT - Electronic Lien & Title ID Number
The DMV application for ELT ID Number form must be completed by the lienholder after registering for North Carolina Electronic Lien and Title service. It allows the lienholder (bank, credit union, finance company, car dealer) to obtain what's known as an ELT DMV ID Number. The North Carolina DMV Title Application form MVR1 is commonly used by dealers when selling a vehicle and placing a lien in their business name or another finance company's name. We encourage you to read the form completely for instructions, but generally the dealer registers the title in the name of the customer and uses the section entitled "LIEN SECTION" to add the lienholder's information, including the required DMV ID Number.
